Warehouse Manager Jobs in California
A Warehouse Manager in the logistics industry oversees the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of a range of goods. They are responsible for warehouse safety and security, planning space layout, managing warehouse teams, and ensuring quality, cost-effective operations. Warehouse Managers also handle inventory control, order fulfillment, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local warehouse, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements.
To be successful in this role, a Warehouse Manager should have strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and in-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems and procedures. Key certifications could include a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification. Prior roles that generally lead to the position of a Warehouse Manager include Warehouse Supervisor, Inventory Coordinator, or Distribution Center Supervisor.
