Sourcing Manager Jobs in West Virginia
A Sourcing Manager in the logistics industry is primarily responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of purchasing goods, products, and services for a company. They develop and execute sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers, and conduct vendor evaluations to ensure their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements. The Sourcing Manager also coordinates with other departments such as finance and operations for budgeting and product requirement purposes. They continually monitor and analyze market trends to capitalize on cost-saving opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
Important skills for a Sourcing Manager include strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and project management skills. Prior to becoming a Sourcing Manager, a person may have roles such as Procurement Specialist, Supply Chain Analyst, or Purchasing Manager, which provide a solid foundation of the purchasing process, vendor relations, and contract management in logistics.
