Production Manager

Quanex is looking for a Production Manager – Paint Line to join our team located in Owatonna, MN

Seeking a driven, results oriented Production Manager to lead paint line operations in Owatonna. Reporting to the Plant Manager, in this role you are accountable for delivering performance through safety, quality, productivity, and on time delivery on a brand-new powder paint line.
Hours: Varies (Monday – Friday)

• This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong presence on the shop floor. You will lead daily operations, build a high performing team, enforce standards, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing site.

What Success Looks Like:

• Own safety performance and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
• Lead daily operations to meet production targets, efficiency goals, and delivery commitments
• Support plan and manage production schedules, staffing, and resources based on customer demand
• Hold teams accountable for quality, output, schedule adherence, and safe work practices
• Build, coach, and develop a high performing team with clear expectations and ongoing feedback
• Maintain strong visibility on the production floor and reinforce accountability
• Take ownership of department performance and step in as needed to meet business goals

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication (Powder Paint) experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred) or equivalent work experience.
• Proven ability to improve production performance and deliver results
• Safety-first mindset

The salary range for this position is $90K to $133K with bonus potential.
