Shipping and Receiving Associate Jobs in Minnesota
A Shipping and Receiving Associate in the logistics industry plays a pivotal role in managing and coordinating all aspects of incoming and outgoing merchandise. This includes tasks such as loading and unloading shipments, verifying shipped goods against sales orders, and processing returns. They also maintain inventory records and ensure the proper storage of goods. More so, they are responsible for complying with all safety standards and handling protocols.
Important skills for this role include strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Proficiency in inventory software and familiarity with supply chain procedures are also essential. Some positions may require certifications such as a Forklift Operator Certification or a Dangerous Goods Handling Certification. Prior to being a Shipping and Receiving Associate, one may have roles such as a Warehouse Clerk, Inventory Control Specialist, or a Material Handler.
