Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

This role supports day-to-day production operations by performing a variety of hands-on tasks, including material handling, machine operation, and general labor in both indoor and outdoor environments. You will work on either 1st or 2nd shift, contribute to safe and efficient production, and help maintain a clean and organized facility.

Responsibilities

  • Apply endplates by hand or with machines according to production requirements and quality standards.

  • Operate banding equipment safely and efficiently to secure materials and finished products.

  • Assist in loading and unloading materials, including charges, using appropriate tools and equipment.

  • Support material storage activities by setting stickers and dunnage to ensure safe and stable stacking.

  • Tag materials accurately with proper product tags to maintain clear identification and traceability.

  • Cut dunnage to specified sizes to support product handling, storage, and shipping needs.

  • Assist in cleaning work areas regularly to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production environment.

  • Help with painting and maintaining property, plant, and equipment as directed.

  • Participate actively in the company safety program by following all safety rules, reporting hazards, and using required personal protective equipment.

  • Use hand tools and production equipment in a safe and effective manner to complete assigned tasks.

  • Perform basic inspection of materials and work areas to identify potential issues or defects.

  • Assist with general materials handling tasks, including moving, staging, and organizing products and supplies.

  • Support machine operation as needed, including basic setup assistance, monitoring, and simple adjustments under guidance.

  • Contribute to troubleshooting efforts by recognizing and reporting potential equipment or process issues promptly.

  • Maintain accurate paperwork and use computers to upload and download job information as required.

  • Keep the work area neat, organized, and free of unnecessary debris throughout the shift.

  • Work collaboratively with a small team of 2 to 3 people to meet production goals and deadlines.

  • Be available to work required overtime, including one weekend per month, which may result in working up to 12 consecutive days.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall production and plant operations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with general labor or production work, including tasks such as material handling and basic machine operation

  • Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for tasks such as pounding hammers and cutting dunnage

  • Comfort with physical labor, including lifting, carrying, standing, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods

  • Basic machine operation skills, including assisting with operation and monitoring of production equipment

  • Materials handling experience, with the ability to load, unload, move, and stage materials safely

  • Ability to perform basic inspection tasks to identify visible defects or issues

  • Good eye-hand coordination for tasks such as hammering and precise manual work

  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately and use computers to upload and download job information

  • Strong organizational skills to keep the work area clean, orderly, and efficient

  • Ability to diagnose and help troubleshoot potential issues and communicate them to the appropriate personnel

  • Willingness and ability to work 1st shift (6:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m.) or 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. 12:00 a.m.), including required overtime on Fridays

  • Willingness to work one weekend per month, understanding this may result in working up to 12 days in a row

  • Comfort working in hot, cold, smelly, and dusty environments, both indoors and outdoors

  • Ability to work effectively in a small team of 2 to 3 people

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 612 months of consistent work history in construction, farming, or other general labor roles

  • Machine operation, materials handling, forklift operation, inspection, farm work, construction, landscaping, or roofing is beneficial

  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety procedures

  • Reliability and strong attendance to support rotating and overtime schedules

  • Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changing production needs

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bangor, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.17 - $24.17/hr.
