? General Production Worker
Job Description
This position supports a high-volume blown film manufacturing operation that produces plastic film used in agricultural, medical, and industrial applications. As a General Production Worker, you help run one of several blown film lines by packaging plastic rolls, monitoring product quality, and assisting with basic machine-related tasks. The role is labor-intensive and fast paced, requiring consistent attention to detail, safe work habits, and the ability to handle repetitive tasks while maintaining production and quality standards.
? Responsibilities
Help run one of three blown film production lines in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment
Operate and assist with equipment used to convert large plastic rolls into smaller rolls according to specifications
Use a shaft hoist safely to handle and move rolls of plastic film
Perform core loading, including taping and tagging cores accurately
Handle rolls efficiently, including lifting, moving, and positioning plastic rolls weighing up to 50 pounds
Package and palletize rolls and finished products according to specifications
Replace trims and perform barrel switching when needed
Label, box, and load 50-pound plastic rolls as a primary daily activity
Change out cutting knives following safety and quality procedures
Package or monitor rolls as they are indexed between cores
Inspect rolls for defects and ensure quality standards are met
Collaborate with team members to keep production running smoothly
Maintain accurate counts of materials and finished goods
Report defects or quality concerns immediately
Assist with production changeovers and setups
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
Monitor scrap conveyor and respond to alerts promptly
Meet productivity and quality standards consistently
Follow all OSHA and safety guidelines
Adapt to changing priorities and multitask effectively
? Essential Skills
Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including every other weekend
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
Ability to stand for 812 hours per shift
Basic reading and writing skills to follow instructions and safety procedures
At least 1 year of industrial/manufacturing experience preferred
Experience with automated equipment preferred
General production, machine operation, and labor experience
Packaging and palletizing experience
Basic math skills for counts and production tracking
Ability to identify defective products
Comfortable using hand tools safely
Ability to perform repetitive, physical tasks in a fast-paced setting
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in plastics, blown film, extrusion, or injection molding
Machine operation and basic setup experience
Forklift or material handling experience
Quality inspection experience
Team collaboration skills
Strong attention to detail in labeling and packaging
Ability to respond to machine alarms and indicators

? Work Environment
This role is based in a clean, modern blown film manufacturing facility producing plastic film for multiple industries. The environment is well maintained but not climate controlled, and temperatures may increase during warmer months.
12-hour rotating shifts (including every other weekend)
Physically active role with standing, lifting, and packaging
Fast-paced production setting requiring multitasking
Work with automated equipment, hoists, conveyors, and machinery
Safety-focused environment following OSHA standards

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
