Job Summary
The Demand Planner I is responsible for developing and executing predictive demand forecasts for spare parts supporting fielded aircraft from historical field sales data. This role ensures optimal inventory positioning through advanced forecasting techniques, root cause corrective action (RCCA) analysis, right-sizing to ensure appropriate inventory turns, and measuring & driving performance to achieve key metrics (monthly fill rate, net sales, and forecast accuracy), while maintaining alignment with Product Support Agreements (PSAs). The Demand Planner I also supports forecasting requirements for Network Providers and aircraft fleet customers, including those with elevated or platinum-level service agreements, ensuring service level commitments are consistently met. This role plays a critical part in incorporating new product introductions (Upgrades & Accessories, new aircraft models, new aircraft generation launches, etc.), assessing production-driven supply risks, and mitigating critical part shortages to maintain high service levels. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams—including Supply Chain, Materials Management, Engineering, and Service & Support—is essential to ensure accurate demand planning and inventory optimization.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain predictive forecasting models for spare parts demand, leveraging historical usage, trend analysis, and forward-looking business inputs.
- Provide forecast development and ongoing support for Network Providers and aircraft fleet customers, including those with platinum or higher-tier service level agreements (including Fleet customers), ensuring alignment with contractual service expectations and demand profiles.
- Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis on forecast variances, demand fluctuations, and service level gaps; implement corrective strategies to improve forecast accuracy.
- Integrate new product introductions (NPI) into demand forecasts, ensuring alignment with program timelines, fleet entry, and support requirements.
- Analyze and adjust inventory strategies based on demand variability, service level targets, and Product Support Agreement (PSA) commitments, including differentiated service levels for key customers and Network Providers.
- Assess and incorporate the impact of production constraints and critical part shortages into demand plans; proactively identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Review and optimize current and projected inventory levels to ensure appropriate turnover, availability, and lifecycle management of service parts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Service & Support, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Planning to align forecasts with operational and customer requirements, including coordination with Network Providers.
- Support supplier engagement activities, including contract review and input on supply continuity risks, in coordination with Supply Chain and Legal teams.
- Continuously evaluate and improve forecasting methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance accuracy and responsiveness.

- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or Statistics required.
- 0-2 years of experience managing product lines, forecasting/sales analysis, inventory control, purchasing, sales or any combination thereof required.
- Operational knowledge of ERP systems, specifically material and demand planning.
- Ability to effectively present information upstream.
- Must demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Aviation/aerospace or automotive market knowledge preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and related customer/account management, case tracking, activity history, aircraft history, etc.
- Familiarity with varying customer types (business, fleet, for-hire, personal, etc.).
