Material Handler Structural Steel (First Shift | Full-Time)

Were looking for a reliable, safety-focused Material Handler to support our structural steel fabrication operation. In this role, youll operate forklifts, move heavy steel, and ensure welders and fabricators have what they need to keep production running efficiently.

What Youll Do
As a Material Handler, youll play a key role in the flow of materials across our shop and yard:
Safely operate a forklift to transport structural steel throughout the facility
Load and unload flatbed trailers and incoming/outgoing shipments
Stage materials for welders and fabricators to support continuous production
Receive, organize, and store steel inventory accurately
Pick and prepare materials for production or shipment
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Work outdoors regularly while managing yard operations
Follow strict safety procedures while handling heavy materials and equipment
Communicate with team members to ensure orders and production needs are met
What You Bring
Experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, yard, or industrial setting
Strong material handling, especially with heavy or oversized items
Ability to safely load/unload trucks, including flatbeds
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Knowledge of safety practices related to heavy materials and equipment
Ability to stay organized and support a fast-paced production team
Bonus Experience (Preferred):
Structural steel handling or fabrication environment experience
Familiarity with welding operations and shop workflows
Order picking/packing in a manufacturing or warehouse setting

Schedule:
MondayThursday: 5:30 AM 4:00 PM
Friday: 5:30 AM 3:00 PM
Work Setting:
Mix of indoor production shop and outdoor yard (approx. 75% outdoors)
Work around heavy steel, forklifts, and fabrication equipment
Heated outdoor areas available during winter months
Fast-paced, safety-driven environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
