Dispatcher Position Description
This Dispatcher position will be available July 1, 2026. This is a full-time, 12-month, 40-hour work week, 8-hour day position with an am shift of 5:15 AM to 9:15 AM and PM shift of 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Shift may be adjusted on non-student days and/or as management determines for necessary coverage. The salary and benefits are in accordance with the Act 93 Compensation Plan.
Further qualifications include:
1. Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution
2. Five (5) years experience as a school bus driver (preferred.)
3. Five (5) years of experience supervising a team of 80 or more school bus drivers in a school district setting
4. Knowledge of state driving laws and regulations
5. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class B CDL with S' and P' endorsement with L' restriction removed, or obtain within six (6) months of hire.
6. Proficiency with office equipment, including computers, printers, and communication devices.
7. Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), GPS/AVL tracking, and routing software compatible with district-wide systems.
8. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite or equivalent (e.g., Google Workspace), including data entry and analysis.
9. Excellent organizational skills and abilities.
10. Current Act 34, Act 151 and FBI Clearances and TB test as required by the laws of Pennsylvania; any other clearances or tests that may be required by law.
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with diverse populations and handle high-stress situations.
12. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable and reasonable.
