Job Description
ABOUT TARTA
Tarta is a Boulder-based Basque-style cheesecake brand. We make small, beautiful, caramelized cheesecakes and sell them at farmers markets, to local cafes, and through online orders. We're growing fast, and we need a reliable kitchen person who takes pride in the work and can run production with consistency.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Execute full production batches using our recipes and step-by-step SOPs
Set up molds, mix batter, fill molds, and manage oven cycles (we bake ~6 cycles per day)
Monitor bake quality color, firmness, caramelization
Clean and organize molds, tools, and the kitchen space at end of each shift
Assist with packaging (demolding, boxing, labeling)
Flag any supply issues or quality problems immediately
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Reliable above everything else you show up, on time, ready to work
Comfortable standing for 56 hours and working in a hot kitchen environment
Detail-oriented consistent portioning and quality control matter here
Some kitchen experience preferred, but we'll train the right person
Available weekdays
Culinary student, recent grad, or experienced kitchen worker all welcome
WHAT YOU GET
$20$22/hour to start, with room to grow as the business grows
~10 hours/week (predictable Monday/Tuesday or Thurs/Fri schedule - we'll issue a calendar ahead of time)
Work with a small, design-forward food brand you can be proud of
Learn production operations from the ground up real experience, not coffee runs
Samples. A lot of them.
HOW TO APPLY
Tell us a bit about your background and when you're available. We'll get back to you within 48 hours.
No cover letter needed. A few sentences about yourself and why you're interested is plenty.
