This position is part of the Government Secure and Intelligent Documents, Government Publishing Office in Pueblo, CO.To qualify for the Materials Handler, you must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element, Job Element #1, Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision to be considered for this position. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the online questionnaire. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT ELEMENT is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
In addition to meeting the screen-out element, applicants must also show experience with 1) operating material handler equipment, i.e. fork truck, pallet jack, stand up reach truck; 2) preparing shipments, i.e. proper wrapping, packing, labeling, and weighing procedures; and 3) performing checks and verification of work completed.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement to be considered. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
