Processing - Production Manager
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and improving day to day operational activities within the Processing department, including gummies, beverages and shot production, while ensuring efficiency, quality safety compliance and cost effectiveness.
This role translates business strategy into operational execution by leading teams, optimizing processes, driving continuous improvement and ensuring production targets and performance expectations are consistently achieved.
The key competencies required for this dynamic role include strong leadership skills, an ability to develop effective leadership skills within direct reports, strong analytical and technical skills, a desire to exceed company goals and an emphasis on continuous improvement. The function requires a collaborative problem solver, team player, and an effective communicator.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and oversight of processing and production operations for beverages, shots, and gummies, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution
- Own and monitor key production KPIs (throughput, yield, labour efficiency, downtime, waste, schedule adherence)to drive performance across all product lines
- Champion a quality and safety first culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, SOPs, GMPs, and company standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance labour productivity and cost control across beverage, shot, and gummy production
- Lead and develop production leaders and frontline teams through coaching, performance management, training, cross training, and ongoing feedback
- Lead performance management activities including coaching, development planning, and cross training, and ongoing feedback for supervisors and frontline leaders
- Maintain cross functional collaboration, working closely with Inventory Control, Warehouse and Logistics, Planning, Maintenance, QA, P&C, Regulatory, and R&D teams to ensure operational alignment
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes to support teams and troubleshoot operational issues on the floor
- Proactively identify and escalate operational, quality, or capacity risks that may impact timelines, product quality, or business objectives
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of leadership experience in a fastpaced manufacturing environment, preferably within regulated industries such as cannabis, pharmaceuticals, or food manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate highperforming teams while fostering accountability and engagement
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, quality management systems, and inventory management systems (ERP);
- Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
