Job Summary An operator in the shipping and warehouse areas is responsible for loading and unloading finished products and related materials from box vans and flatbed trailers. Specific functions may change from time to time and may require extended periods of time in adverse weather conditions. Proper PPE is to be worn at all times. This job position requires a self-motivated individual who demonstrates initiative, takes ownership, exhibits a high level of personal leadership, and has a positive safety attitude. It also requires extended working hours in our busy season. Duties and Responsibilities Operate a forklift loading/unloading trucks, both flatbed and trailer. Pull product from rows and storage containers utilizing first in, first out (FIFO) Complete daily forklift inspections, trailer pre-load inspections, and incoming materials inspections. Operate various machinery, such as a pallet inverter and stretch wrapper, to complete restacks. Inspect machinery, keep it in good operating condition, and report any maintenance items. Organize and maintain the cleanliness of the shipyard, including debris removal, following the housekeeping and GMP policy. Keep the rework area in the shipyard organized and complete. Pallet restacks will be required. Clean and organize the storage warehouse, including rotating packaging materials and ingredients to comply with FIFO. Confirm shipment loading tickets, BOLs, and product labels, and ensure the correct product is shipped. Visually inspect finished product bags and pallets for damage, cleanliness, and/or foreign material. Complete shipping/receiving paperwork and keep accurate records. Fill in for the shipping department vacations. Assist and maintain a work area clear of hazards, including sweeping, machine maintenance, and equipment through daily housekeeping. Work safely and responsibly, following all safety policies and procedures. Communicate all concerns about safety, quality, productivity, and work environment to a supervisor or manager. Understand and comply with all Quality, Environmental Health, and Safety (QEHS) policies, especially those pertinent to the facility's Safety and HACCP program and how they apply to the tasks performed.
