Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor oversees a team of warehouse employees and all front-line warehouse operations, while also being able to perform the essential duties of a warehouse worker. This role reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for staff performance, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Train warehouse personnel in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices
Manage inventory, conduct counts, and perform product audits
Coordinate with shipping staff, drivers, customers, and warehouse employees to ensure smooth operations
Communicate and collaborate with warehouse supervisors and managers on daily activities and priorities
Maintain and organize storage areas to maximize efficiency and workflow
Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
Essential Job Functions:
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
Inspect incoming goods for damage and remove or repackage as needed
Handle boxes, pallets, and other materials safely, including lifting 50+ pounds
Preferred, but not required:
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Experience handling container cargo (e.g., jockey truck, yard truck, top pick, etc.)
Ability to complete equipment inspections and safely operate trucks for material movement
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff
Familiarity with warehouse and logistics operations preferred
Professional appearance and communication skills to represent the company positively
Ability to obtain and maintain required security credentials (e.g., TWIC or site-specific clearance)
Work Conditions: This position is in a warehouse environment that may include refrigerated or climate-controlled areas. Employees should expect exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.), along with extended periods of standing, walking, and physical activity.
