Job Description The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for the effective and efficient distribution of product as well as the management of a team of Drivers within a Sales Center facility. In certain facilities this role will also assume responsibility for Full Service routing and reporting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate distribution schedules, vehicle assignments, loading of product and delivery of product
Conduct weekly route rides with Drivers; document observations and develop action plan to address areas of opportunity
Where applicable: complete daily Full Service route planning; conduct Full Service audits and provide Full Service reporting as needed
Supervise, train, develop and evaluate a team of direct reports
Foster a fun, results driven work environment that achieves its results in a safe, professional and ethical manner
Ensure adherence to delivery standards, efficiencies and regulatory requirements
Establish and maintain positive customer relationships; work to resolve customer issues
Serve as liaison between distribution and sales departments
Job Requirements
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
3+ years of experience in Warehouse & Distribution, Supply Chain or related field required
Previous supervisory and / or leadership experience preferred
Basic technical knowledge and working experience with SAP preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel and Word
Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, to clearly articulate relevant ideas, opinions and information
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, and across teams where necessary, to develop relationships throughout the company and to work collaboratively
Ability to effectively supervise and motivate employees
