The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating orders, scheduling deliveries, dispatching resources, and providing exceptional customer service while supporting a strong safety-first culture. This role requires excellent multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities Comply with all company safety policies and procedures. Attend department and site safety meetings and actively participate in safety programs, including near-miss reporting, STAs, workplace exams, and pre-shift inspections. Take customer orders, schedule deliveries, and dispatch resources efficiently. Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, ensuring positive relationships and high satisfaction. Maintain accurate order entry and scheduling within the dispatch system. Monitor external factors such as weather conditions and traffic patterns to optimize routing and resource utilization. Identify and resolve transportation conflicts, delays, and service disruptions. Manage unusual or escalated customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and resolution-focused judgment. Apply problem-solving techniques to address complex operational and customer-related issues. Exercise sound judgment to determine when to escalate issues or involve other departments or stakeholders. Maintain a positive attitude and communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and internal teams. Handle a high call volume (100+ calls per shift) while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Work collaboratively within a team to achieve department and company objectives. Demonstrate the ability to multitask and complete daily workloads efficiently and on time. Build and maintain strong working relationships with coworkers and external partners. Perform all duties safely and with a sense of urgency. Required Skills Dispatching Data Entry Call Center Operations Logistics Cement or construction-related industry experience (preferred) Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent concrete dispatch experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience coordinating logistics and transporting products from point A to point B. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with professional phone etiquette. Commitment to and support of a performance-based safety culture. Strong mathematical, interpersonal, and communication abilities. Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking. High attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure while meeting deadlines. Proven time management and multitasking capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; bilingual Spanish is a plus. Experience Level Intermediate Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Deerfield Beach, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
