Job Summary Our Drivers have a crucial role in Active Day's success. You are the first and last person with our members every day. As Transportation Coordinator you are responsible for training and mentoring our drivers. Additionally, the Transportation Coordinator develops and assigns routes, ensures fleet vehicles are in safe operating condition and maintains related records and reports. Transportation Coordinators lead by example - maintaining a positive attitude; being thoughtful, supportive, productive, and dependable co-worker; keeping our members safe, and always working to enhance the health and happiness of the people we serve and those who care for them. Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Conduct Driver training - ensuring all Drivers are provided with the tools to follow all standard operating procedures. Coach and mentor Drivers; provide Center Director or Transportation Manager feedback relative to Drivers' performance. Develop efficient, scheduled routes and oversee safe transport of all members promptly. Drive assigned routes and ability to jump in and drive when needed. Oversee fleet; ensure Drivers conduct daily vehicle inspections, follow prescribed maintenance and fueling schedule, confirm wheelchair lifts and tie-down equipment are operating correctly, and maintain the cleanliness of their vehicles. Respond to and resolve reports of mechanical or safety concerns, repairs, or service needs. Maintain current and working knowledge of state, federal, and regulatory laws & guidelines related to passenger transport. Effectively manage accident investigations and related reporting. Ensure proper submission of Medicaid billing claims for transportation trips, if applicable. Assist Center Director and home office transportation team in identifying and implementing operational efficiencies to enhance the member experience. Qualifications: High school degree or equivalent required. At least 21 years of age, and prior experience coaching, mentoring and motivating others, preferably in a transportation environment. Valid driver's license and state/vehicle-specific driver credentials. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and GPS/routing software. Strong communication and engaging interpersonal skills. Able to multi-task and manage competing priorities. Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred. Able to work a flexible schedule. Able to push, pull, bend, turn, pivot, transfer and lift up to 50 pounds; able to routinely and repeatedly exit and enter the vehicle to assist members with on- and off-boarding. Able to pass required physical exams including Department of Transportation (DOT) exam. Successful results of background check, motor vehicle report, drug testing, and any other state-specific requirements. Knowledge of local geographic area preferred. Where applicable, certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and Passenger Assisted Safety & Sensitivity (PASS) are required and will be facilitated as part of job training #INDAD
