Role Overview
The Original Equipment (OE) Operations Manager leads and supports daily plant operations for the Clearwater business. The role is responsible for leading Original Equipment personnel and coordination of day-to-day commercial and military production work, along with providing overall departmental leadership as a key team member of the site staff.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage the Original Equipment business in order to reach defined targets in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Ensure continuous business improvement according to site benchmarks and standards.
Team management of salaried employees, which includes production supervisors who lead hourly employees.
Lead activities to promote manufacturing improvements and cost reduction to further develop Clearwater as an Electronics Center of Excellence.
Lead measurement standardization and systemic change management to support Clearwater site KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and problem-solving processes, including root cause corrective action.
Establish control plans, daily standard work, and visual management around KPIs in the shop.
Engage in Plant Leader staff meetings and report repair strategy.
Participate in internal capacity/growth planning activities.
Present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders across GE Aerospace.
Communicate recommendations and solutions across the organization and with cross-functional partner organizations.
Travel up to 20%
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 9 years of experience in manufacturing and/or production)
Minimum of 5 years of experience directly leading people in a manufacturing and/or production environment
Preferred Qualifications
Aviation electronics manufacturing experience
Ability to lead and organize across functional disciplines
Ability to strategically identify and champion action plans to achieve growth
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Experience leading hourly and salary employees
Experience leading Kaizen events, including pre-work
Experience leading programs and projects
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, for applicants who are not U.S. lawful permanent residents, U.S. Citizens, or have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., not a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), otherwise known as a U.S. Person), employment will be contingent on the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
