Position Overview
Safely operate a LP powered industrial truck equipped with tilting forks to lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials to and/or from storage areas, machines, loading docks, warehouse facilities, or truck trailers.
Responsibilities
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Obtaining a copy of the production schedule or shipping order and transporting materials to and from designated areas in the facility;
- Providing raw materials or stock to production machines per the production schedule;
- Loading/unloading goods from truck and trailers;
- Moving goods packed on slip sheets and pallets around the facility;
- Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control procedures;
- Checking loads are secure; and
- Removing waste materials from machines.
- Maintain a clean & safe environment.
- Required use of RF scanning equipment.
- Lubricate truck, refuel or replace liquefied gas.
- Keep radiator clear of dust and debris.
- Complete daily safety and maintenance checks, per OSHA guidelines, reporting any issues to maintenance for repair.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle license may be required.
- Forklift certification will be required and performed onsite per OSHA standards.
- Must have two (2) years of previous experience positioning forks over, under, or around bundles, loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials. NOTE: most units will NOT be on pallets.
- Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills required.
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to yourself and others.
- Ability to inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials when needed.
