Job Overview:

At Gardner Denver, Industrial Technology and Services, LLC, a proud division of Ingersoll Rand, we design and manufacture industry-leading blowers and compressors used in a wide range of industrial, commercial, and government applications. From raw metal castings to world-class finished products, our expert team transforms materials into powerful, high-performing solutions trusted around the globe.

We're looking for a passionate and driven Inventory Control Supervisor to take charge of our talented Material Handler team! In this key position, you'll partner with management to guide daily operations, support our cycle count program, and ensure materials flow smoothly and efficiently through our production process. You'll play a vital role in delivering top-quality product safely and on time to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Operations: Plans, organizes and delegates work assignments to Material Handlers supplying parts to shop floor operations.
  • Inventory Accuracy: strategize and implement programs to maintain and improve inventory accuracy via the cycle count program.
  • Production: Main focus is to keep parts supplied to the shop floor; pre-planning and re-directing efforts when necessary.
  • Plant Safety: Direct team in the inspection of powered industrial vehicles, the use of safety equipment, departmental housekeeping and maintains a continual alert for hazardous conditions.
  • Training: Coordinates and participates in a variety of training programs for employees.
  • Employee Safety: Proactively supervise safety, including accident investigation and follow-up, departmental inspections, employee training, and safety rule enforcement.
  • Management: Involved in the recruitment, training, goal-setting and performance management of production staff.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proven supervisory experience, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Solid knowledge of warehousing operations, including shipping, receiving, and material movement
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE, or similar platforms)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and manage data to support inventory accuracy
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, material flow, and production processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and empower teams to achieve performance objectives
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with strong communication and collaboration abilities

  • Work Coordination & Prioritization - Skilled at organizing team schedules, assigning tasks based on capabilities, and adjusting priorities in real-time to meet production demands.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making - Able to quickly assess production or safety issues, troubleshoot effectively, and implement practical solutions with minimal disruption.
  • Communication & Team Support - Clearly communicates expectations, provides consistent feedback, and serves as a dependable resource for employees on the floor.

Travel and Work Arrangements

  • This position is fully onsite in our Sedalia, MO facility
