SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for supervising the warehouse operations includes packing and shipping departments and the proper allocation and distribution of materials for production. Responsible for proper receipt. Storage, movement and shipment of materials. Develops warehousing policies and procedures to ensure inventory accuracy. Drive continuous improvement in all activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to assigned job at beginning of shift.
  • Prepare work procedures, work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Assist warehouse personnel, as needed, in receiving inbound fiber shipments and the shipping of outbound fiber and finished yarn.
  • Initiate and control all documents for raw materials and finished goods received or transferred.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of employees.
  • Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
  • Complete costing analysis daily and daily report.
  • Randomly audit inventory.
  • Organize inventory to ensure its proper location. Inventory is FIFO.
  • Ensure inventory is consumed within the date that is shown, and daily report is updated.
  • Ensure cross training of department employees to ensure continuity and quality of all activities.
  • Confer with other managers outside of the warehouse to ensure coordination of other functions such as purchasing, production, planning and quality assurance.
  • Ensure proper communication with all departments.
  • Identify employee's skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.
  • Perform monthly inspection of finished goods in warehouse and tag any cases that need to be repacked. Record number of cases by month on ISO form.
  • Perform weekly inventory of cotton by U8+ system and forward inventory to proper personnel at corporate office.
  • Manage inventory cycle counting and conduct root cause analysis and recommend a corrective action for any material variances.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
  • Develops warehousing policies and procedures to ensure inventory accuracy. Drives continuous improvement in all activities.
  • Knowledge of the safety policies and regulations to ensure safe working environment.
  • Always use proper tools, equipment & PPE for the task at hand.
  • Report any production or quality issues to management immediately.
  • Report any unsafe work practices or conditions to management immediately.
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned by the higher management.

  • Previous experience in plant environment preferred.
  • Must be able to follow instructions.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree in Business, management, accounting, statistics or math or supply chain preferred, plus 3 years of related experience.

Minimum 3-year experience in production, warehouse or logistics environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employee must be able to:

a. Bend, Reach, Push, Pull, Stoop.

b. Stand for long periods of time

c. Walk long distances every day

d. Lift up to 25 to 50 pounds

e. Distinguish the level of white color (white, middle yellow, yellow).

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

a. Always wear safety glasses and hearing protection (where applicable).

b. Always wear safety glove when using utility knife.

c. Always wear dust mask (where applicable)

d. Always wear shoes that cover the entire foot, no open toes.

e. Always keep hair tied back.

g. Always observe good housekeeping by keeping cotton fibers or any foreign materials, debris off of the floor.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to tolerate indoor work, exposure to cotton dust and noise levels while working.
