Position Overview
The Production Scheduler will be based in a central supply chain office, managing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for multiple facilities. This role will involve preparing optimized schedules and maintaining inventories that support a make-to-stock environment and finished goods purchases, inter-company transfers, and related transactions within the ERP system. The Production Scheduler responsibilities span all functions within the Supply Chain, supporting cross-functional collaboration, assisting in project management, and contributing to the overall development of Supply Chain capabilities and efficiencies through reporting for facilities and Key Performance Indicators.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage MPS schedules for commercial and residential businesses using the planning templates and JDE. This includes monitoring run rates, optimizing short-term planning schedules, and collaborating with plant teams to manage the detailed execution of these schedules. It also includes strategies of make-to-stock and make-to-order, working with customer demand and forecast.
- Monitor and report on performance to schedule.
- Work with routings, bills of materials, capacity planning and inventory management.
- Close collaboration with the Supply Planner(s) to meet customer and business expectations by adhering to the supply plan and Master Production Schedule.
- Manage the intercompany finished goods transfers of assigned product categories,
- Reporting associated with Supply Planning/Scheduling
- Lead the analysis of planning standards (production rates, safety stock, inventory targets, etc.)
- Facilitate regular planning calls, working with plants to provide schedules that support improved efficiency (e.g., colour changes, family transitions, and run lengths).
- Lead IKOs Excellence projects that are key to achieving IKOs strategic objectives and oversee cross-functional projects and assignments to enhance interdepartmental performance (Logistics, Raw Materials, and Customer Service).
- Serve as a backup to other Planning positions.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field required
- 2+ years of experience in master scheduling, demand management, capacity planning, and/or supply planning environments.
- Experience with MRP, large-scale ERP, or planning systems.
- High proficiency in MS Office, particularly in MS Excel and data visualization tools.
- Must have an excellent understanding of the upstream and downstream supply chain process.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively across multiple functions.
- Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job.
- Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility.
- Very strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, and presentation skills.
Nice to have Qualifications:
- Certificates - APICS or other forecasting and Supply Chain Certifications preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt) is an asset.
- Power BI experience is an asset
