Job Description
Position Overview:
This is a dual position:
The forklift operator ensures the packaging, handling, and shipment of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
The Palletizer Operator works independently inspecting product and line
Location: Olympia, WA
Salary: $27.4741 average/ per hour Forklift Driver
$27.4741 average/ per hour Palletizer Operator
Under the union contract this position also includes a union pension.

Forklift Operator duties and responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Plant Shipping Supervisor, the Forklift Driver/Operators responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
Ensures all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules
Operates sit-down propane forklift to transport inventory and load tractor trailers for shipment.
Transports inventory in warehouse to correct locations and stages orders for shipment.
Understands daily production schedule and corresponds with management, leads, and coworkers accordingly
Performs visual inspection of aluminum cans and packaging quality
Monitors schedules, equipment, or processes, and reports problems to Supervisor
Follows all SOPs (standard operating procedures) and communicates with proper personnel as concerns or issues arise
Assist Quality Assurance in locating pallets for sampling
Performs other related duties as required

Palletizer Operator Duties and Responsibilities:
The Palletizer Operator is an entry-level position will be responsible for operating automatic can palletizing equipment to pattern and/or transfer cans to and from pallets.
Minimum 18 years old
High School diploma or G.E.D preferred
Equivalent with 3+ years working on a sit-down forklift experience required.
Working in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).
Must be able to withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer and winter months.
Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods as well as work on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer months.
Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping, and precision abilities is highly desirable.
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, either nights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., or days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekends and overtime as business needs dictate.
This position requires union membership after 30 days of hire.
Preferred Requirements
OSHA/Forklift Trainer Certified
Beverage Packaging industry experience
Knowledge of AS400
