Job Description


The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for leading the daily functions and administrative management of the pharmacy business, its services and personnel.  Position provides area expertise and thought leadership to the entire organization to deliver high-quality patient care improved population health within the community.  Principal responsibilities include daily program operations, staff and resource management, project management, quality improvement, budget management and compliance with all applicable policies andprocedures, accreditation requirements, medication safety protocols and government regulatory requirements.  Position facilitates collaboration and is a resource within the agency and broader health community.  Incumbent holds Pharmacist-in-Charge designation on behalf of pharmacy operations and oversees all pharmacy staff.  Key accountabilities areas include operational management, medication use outcomes and stewardship, practice advancement and service optimization, and financial and human resource management.

Job Qualifications/KSAs:

  • PharmD degree completion from an accredited college of pharmacy and successful Florida pharmacy board examination completion.
  • Minimum five years of relevant pharmacy work experience that includes at least three years of pharmacy leadership or management experience or similar.
  • Valid Florida pharmacist license in good standing with a valid NPI designation and DEA number.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communicationskills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and adapt messaging for the appropriate audience.  Bilingual preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy services and understanding of pharmacology, therapeutics, drug interactions, and disease states within an ever-changing health care landscape.
  • Ability to function in a complex team environment, collaborating with external and internal professionals and other customers.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing demands efficiently adn simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of clinical pharmacy key performance indicators, such as medication reconciliation and patient education.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial experience planning, organizing, directing and controlling pharmacy operational activities and functions.
  • Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases) and familiarity with various software programs, equipment and technology necessary to provide pharmacy services.  Familiarity with PioneerRx and eClinicalWorks platforms preferred.)
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulationsregarding pharmacy practice and medication dispensing.
  • Exceptional time-management, decision-making, and organizational skills and abilities.
  • Outstanding intepersonal relationship skills, professionalism and highemotional intelligence.
  • Aility to develop a consensus, promote teamwork and inspire confidence.
  • Ability to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction including employees, patients, physicians and stakeholders.

Position incumbents must meet occupational demands and fitness-for-duty requirement.
