Industrial Truck Operator - Building Materials

Shift: 1st, 8am - 4:30pm M-F

Pay: $19/hr.

What to expect:

• Moves semi-trailers around into the correct door with a terminal tractor.
• Safely loads and unloads trucks using a powered industrial truck.
• Performs shipping verifications.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities of the order picker role, (fills customer orders and ensures that the quality of the orders meet company standards).
• Trains new hires or new departmental transfers.
• Communicates any discrepancies, product, and safety issues with Manager.
• Successfully passes all Novo forklift training and operates a forklift following all safety requirements established within Novo.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma and GED
• Effectively performs all essential functions, including physical requirements.
• Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) while remaining aware of hazards. and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to move awkward product lengths and weights.
• Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills.
• Ability to use a personal computer to perform detailed inquires, update information and print reports daily.
• Visually inspect items for defects prior to pulling the item.Ability to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions
• Ability to use tape guns, make boxes, lift pallets, stack boxes, etc
• Flexibility in scheduling - able to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience driving industrial powered equipment and terminal tractor.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust.
• 100%: Stand, handle or feel, squeeze or grasp.
• 80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception.
• 50%: Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment.
• 10%: Working bent at waist, climbing, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, bending or twisting.
• Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Lift, push or pull 75-100 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders (up to 15').
