GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse workers. Provide support to the Branch in expediting parts to the Drivers for delivery to customers as well as for delivery to other Branches of the company. Train new employees on company procedures regarding warehouse functions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review work throughout the work process and at completion, in order to ensure that it has been performed effectively.
- Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels, to ensure that activities are performed effectively, and to respond to fluctuating workloads.
- Provide direction and assistance in the solution of problems with employees.
- Communicate with employees and management on a regular basis to ensure procedures are followed, new procedures and methods are considered, and new approved methods or procedures are known and carried out on a timely basis.
- Appraise and document employee performance at regular intervals as required by company procedures, ensuring a plan for improving employee performance and potential.
- Recommend pay increase based upon performance. Receive approval from Operations Manager before discussing with employee.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, abide by same.
- Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, and career development.
- Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded, and problems encountered.
- Ensure all stock is pulled and loaded into the delivery vehicle with accompanying and necessary documents, in conjunction with delivery schedules maintaining a 99% accuracy rate.
- Assist warehouse personnel with everyday functions when necessary.
- Prepare reports for the Operations Manager.
- Ensure that all warehouse equipment is in working condition.
- Report work-related injuries of warehouse workers to our third-party administrator, Zurich.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Professional Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of general warehouse experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory position.
Equipment
- OSHA approved steel toed safety shoes required from the first day of this job.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Handling of normal stock will include lifting or carrying parts in excess of 60 lbs. up to 15% of the time. Majority of lifting and carrying will involve parts between 5 and 60 lbs.
