Industry: Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology Job Title: Procurement Associate II / Procurement (Purchasing) Specialist Duration: 12 Months Contract (Possible Extension Based on Performance and Business Needs) Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 Shift: Monday-Friday | 8 Hours per Day | Standard Business Hours Work Schedule: Hybrid - Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday | Remote Monday & Friday Pay Range: $40.00 - $48.00 per hour Job Summary The Procurement Specialist works within the Procurement Organization, which provides sourcing, contracting and category management services to multiple functional areas within the company. The role supports the Procurement Category Associate Director and is responsible for supporting, executing, enforcing and managing the category strategy at the transactional level set by the Category Team. Key Responsibilities Understand approved buying channels and contracting policy for goods and services and guide requestors to the appropriate buying channel identified by Supplier Management Team. Provide administrative support for procurement projects and supplier management, including contract redlining and execution, contract review, bid summary justifications, and data analysis. Work with high ethical standards and in compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures. Support Category Team strategy by enforcing the supplier preferred network, understanding team initiatives and priorities, and educating stakeholders. Review and negotiate Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, and other agreements in alignment with agreed category strategies and authorized spend levels. Manage standard Procure-to-Pay intake contract requests within established service level metrics. Assist in execution of process-efficiency projects that improve customer experience within the Procure-to-Pay process. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years of procurement/negotiation experience in Purchasing, preferably Facilities Management procurement. Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Experience conducting vendor negotiations and contract management. Understanding of contracting in the indirect procurement space, including Statements of Work and Master Agreements. Analytical and financial acumen for cost analysis, budgeting, and savings identification. Ability to prioritize and organize workload across multiple projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple cross-divisional work processes and projects. Good problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Coupa contract experience highly desirable. Real Estate Services Procurement experience. Work Environment Open seating environment. Individual contributor and team-based work. Experience Required : 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, negotiations, contract management, and facilities procurement experience.
