We're looking for a passionate leader with deep transportation expertise and a strong operational mindset to serve as a trusted resource and subject matter expert for PTI's operations teams. This individual will play a key role in developing leaders, strengthening operational execution, driving consistency, and identifying opportunities to improve performance across multiple divisions.

This role is responsible and accountable for leading the tools, processes, and organization needed to drive operational effectiveness, profitability, and consistency across PTI's divisions. This role will also provide leadership and direction to a team of Operations Managers, serving as a strategic partner, coach, and subject matter expert to resolve complex operational challenges, drive process improvements, support business growth, and promote best business practices across the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Lead, coach, and develop Operations Managers to strengthen leadership capability, operational execution, accountability, and divisional performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted operational resource for Operations Managers and cross-functional teams, providing guidance on complex operational challenges, customer needs, and business decisions.
  • Promote consistency and operational best practices across divisions to improve execution, communication, efficiency, and overall performance.
  • Utilize operational and financial data analysis to identify trends, improve profitability, and support data-driven decision-making across operations teams.
  • Partner with Sales teams to support lane profitability, operational alignment, customer opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics and key business indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and drive accountability across divisions.
  • Provide guidance on asset utilization (trailers, tractors, and drivers) to maximize operational efficiency and support divisional goals.
  • Support personnel planning and organizational effectiveness, including staffing recommendations, succession planning, and team structure considerations.
  • Coach and mentor leaders to strengthen employee development, team engagement, and overall performance outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Recruiting, and other departments to ensure alignment and support business objectives.
  • Lead operational problem-solving efforts by identifying root causes, removing roadblocks, and implementing scalable solutions to improve execution and efficiency.
  • Travel to customer and off-site locations as needed to support operational effectiveness, relationship management, and business needs.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of transportation and leadership experience preferred
  • Previous experience leading leaders or managing multiple functional areas required
  • Proven leadership, operational decision-making, and data analysis experience
  • Strong understanding of transportation operations, profitability drivers, and customer service expectations preferred
