Global Supply Chain Group Leader (PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR)
Pay Rate: $40 to $43/hour
Duration: 30 week contract (strong potential for extension or direct hire)
Schedule Requirements
This position requires flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
Shift Options:
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
Candidates must be available to work 6-7 days per week based on production demands.
Position Summary
The Global Supply Chain Group Leader is responsible for leading hourly employees and technical personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to drive operational excellence, achieve production objectives, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role oversees daily operations, ensures safety and quality standards are met, and promotes a culture of accountability, teamwork, and employee development.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can effectively manage changing priorities, solve problems, drive performance, and lead teams through a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop hourly employees and technical personnel.
- Drive accountability through effective leadership, performance management, and coaching.
- Conduct employee performance discussions, corrective actions, and other personnel-related activities as needed.
- Support employee training, development, and skills progression.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, engagement, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
Operations & Production Management
- Analyze daily production plans and adjust operations as needed to meet business objectives.
- Coordinate personnel, materials, and equipment to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and operational targets are achieved.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Lead teams through changing business conditions while effectively navigating ambiguity.
- Support production launches, process improvements, and operational readiness activities.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Promote quality-focused manufacturing practices and support quality management initiatives.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address operational challenges.
- Implement corrective actions and sustainable process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence principles to improve performance.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment through consistent adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Support environmental, ergonomic, and housekeeping initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain a strong focus on workplace safety and risk reduction.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, logistics, warehouse, or supply chain environment.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to drive results through people and processes.
- Ability to lead teams through change and evolving business needs.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
- Manufacturing, production, logistics, or supply chain supervisory experience.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives.
- Experience leading hourly workforces in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of quality systems, production operations, and process improvement methodologies.
