The position's responsibility is to assure production is scheduled accurately to achieve 100% on time delivery with minimal inventory. Also responsible for production scheduling, to make the most efficient use of time and resources. The scheduler determines what parts to produce and when. Production schedulers decide which products to build and the machines or production lines that will produce them. Must also keep track of production numbers and anticipate problems that could affect the schedule.
Position Responsibilities may include:
- Schedule daily production and maintain manufacturing orders for assigned department(s).
- Create and maintain MAPICS/SAP Manufacturing Orders.
- Verify daily completions for accuracy.
- Interact with other operations personnel for current and future customer demand. Communicate/Adhere with the top management and the workers on company policy and procedures.
- Defines, plans and promotes activities including complex processes. Directs the process and it’s evolution.
- Project and process communicator.
- Advises process specifications for multiple areas, Defines and coordinates specifications for the process.
- Technical leader of scheduling processes. Mentor / role model for Scheduler 3.
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

- Manages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision
- Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals

Knowledge & Skills:
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills to all levels of the company and customers.
- Advanced skill level in MS Excel/Word/Outlook including ability to manipulate functions, charts and pivot tables. Program complex queries and Macros. Develop simple programs.
- Excellent understanding of MAPICS/SAP preferred.
- Expert in multiple processes. Recognized expert in technical disciplines within the processes.
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving - inductive and deductive reasoning, analysis and interpretation to generate possible solutions and responses to problems.
- Able to represent team in cross functional activities.

Competency:
Experience:
- 8 plus years as a Planner/Scheduler
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent related work experience required.
- Masters preferred.
- APICS Certification preferred.
