Fleet Manager

40 hours/week – 52 weeks/year

The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing all vehicles and Transportation related assets, including their operations, conditions, external and internal policy compliance and overall performance. Comply with Maine DOT/FTA/FMCSR requirements relating to Fleet Maintenance.

The Fleet Manager will:

· Manage Preventative Maintenance-Schedule and track routine service, inspections, and required regulatory maintenance including all documentation both electronic and paper file.

· Coordinate Repairs-Arrange urgent and non-urgent repairs, perform minor fixes, and support diagnostic troubleshooting with vendors.

· Conduct Vehicle Inspections-Perform Annual Transit Vehicle Inspections, 90-Day Emergency Exit Inspections, and ensure vehicles are prepared for transfer or disposal.

· Oversee Seasonal & Environmental Needs-Coordinate winter snow removal assist drivers with removing snow from the vehicles.

· Ensure Regulatory Adherence-Maintain compliance with FTA, FMCSR, and State DOT regulations.

· Provide Maintenance Reporting-Deliver timely reports to management on fleet condition, maintenance activities, and operational progress.

· Participate in Required Training-Attend training sessions. Meeting and conferences with Maine Department of Transportation/FTA related to maintenance and vehicle procurement.

· Ability to perform light duty mechanical repairs.

· Proficient with vehicle diagnostics.

The preferred applicant possesses two (2) years college course work or equivalent work experience; · Trained mechanic; Commercial Driver’s License, preferred but not required; good defensive driving skills and a clean driving record. State of Maine Commercial Vehicle Inspection License. Experience with Braun Lift/Ramp Systems or similar Lift systems. Must not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.
