Material Handler - 2nd Shift

A manufacturer of light-weight automotive components is seeking a Material Handler to support manufacturing, packaging, and shipping operations at their Monroe, MI facility. This role is responsible for operating material handling equipment, packaging products to customer specifications, performing quality checks, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Available shift is 2nd shift, 3pm -1130pm, with training on 1st shift for the first 1-2 weeks. Pay rate starts at $16/hr.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely operate lift trucks and other material handling equipment.
  • Receive incoming materials and verify that all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Package material from silos according to customer order specifications and required weights.
  • Perform Bulk Density testing in accordance with quality standards and procedures.
  • Stage bagged shipments for loading and distribution.
  • Notify the Shipping Lead of any non-conforming products or quality concerns.
  • Package molded parts according to established specifications for shipment.
  • Maintain compliance with all Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety (QEHS) policies and procedures.
  • Work overtime as assigned to support business and customer needs.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
  • Maintain and file shipping, receiving, and production documentation.
  • Support production operations during periods of downtime or as business needs require.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or logistics experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and procedures.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate lift trucks and other equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials as required by the position.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
