Sr DC Capex Procurement Manager - Energy infrastructure, Data Center Sourcing and Procurement

Amazon is seeking a motivated, data-driven Sr. Category Manager to support Americas data center expansion and infrastructure development within the Energy Infrastructure and Projects portfolio. In this role, you will own end-to-end sourcing strategies for natural gas procurement categoriescollaborating with internal business partners, engineering teams, and suppliers to drive efficiencies, reduce risks, and optimize costs at scale.

You will develop mechanisms and metrics to ensure supplier accountability for performance and delivery, leveraging competitive bidding, strategic negotiations, and comprehensive analysis of data and market trends to deliver measurable results for your category.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute end-to-end category strategies for natural gas infrastructure procurementincluding gas molecules, pipeline systems, power generation equipment (prime and back-up), and associated balance-of-plant scope for data centers
- Lead complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations for long-term supply agreements, EPC contracts, and O&M service arrangements across OEMs, turnkey service providers, and EPC contractors
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships; develop performance mechanisms, scorecards, and accountability frameworks to ensure delivery commitments are met
- Conduct market analysis and competitive benchmarking to identify cost reduction opportunities, supply risks, and emerging technologies within the natural gas value chain
- Drive large-scale supply chain and procurement process improvements, establishing programmatic frameworks to scale operations and deliver measurable outcomes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, legal, finance, and operations teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives and customer timelines
- Manage multiple competing priorities while consistently delivering on-time results within committed timeframes

Required Qualifications
- Natural Gas Industry Experience
- Natural Gas Trading & Market Dynamics Demonstrated experience in natural gas trading operations, pricing mechanisms, market fundamentals, and commodity risk management
- Pipeline Infrastructure & EPC Deep knowledge of pipeline engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) scopes, including commercial frameworks, contract structures, and negotiation of large-scale infrastructure agreements
- Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Familiarity with O&M contracting models, performance guarantees, and lifecycle cost management for gas infrastructure assets
- Upstream & Value Chain Expertise Understanding of natural gas extraction, production, processing, gathering, and transportation processes across the full value chain
- Long Lead Equipment Procurement Proven experience sourcing and managing suppliers for capital-intensive equipment such as gas turbines, natural gas reciprocating engines/generators, and associated balance-of-plant systems
- Supplier Management Track record of managing complex supplier portfolios including OEMs, turnkey service providers, and refurbishers/resellers

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of program, project or product management, or leading product implementation experience
- 8+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
- Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent
- Experience creating an innovative global supply strategy for the organization resulting in a tangible benefit to the business
- Experience with building and contracting Behind-the-Meter (BTM) and/or Front-of-the-Meter (FTM) power generation solutions using natural gas.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies
- Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction
- Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
- Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent)
- Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
