LHH is seeking an experienced Production Planner to support production scheduling, inventory management, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment for a growing manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations, production planning, and inventory control, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. The anticipated salary for this Production Planner role is between $65,000-$85,000 a year.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and monitor production schedules to ensure customer orders are completed on time.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to schedule production orders and track progress of released work orders.
- Analyze and forecast raw material and supply requirements to support production demands.
- Partner with purchasing teams to identify, source, and replenish materials and supplies.
- Investigate and resolve production-related issues involving material availability, quality concerns, inventory accuracy, and production flow.
- Monitor resource capacity and production requirements to ensure schedules are achieved efficiently.
- Collaborate with Sales, Shipping, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to address delivery challenges and production concerns.
- Support troubleshooting efforts related to manufacturing processes and customer application requirements.
- Work closely with production personnel to optimize equipment utilization and manufacturing processes.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives focused on cost reduction, productivity improvements, and operational excellence.
- Coordinate projects related to process improvements, production efficiency, and business growth initiatives.
- Proactively identify and resolve planning, purchasing, and production challenges with minimal supervision.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and environmental health and safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. Associate degree in a related engineering discipline may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience in a production planning, scheduling, operations, or related role.
- Experience within a metalworking or industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing processes and production environment
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems; experience with PLEX or similar manufacturing software is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and Just-in-Time manufacturing principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
