Receiving Associate, Distribution Center (Full Time, Days)

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects and identifies materials delivered to the Distribution Center according to established procedure.
- Receives all items according to established procedure.
- Enters all receipts into the MMIS (Materials Management Information System).
- Accurately performs multiple operational tasks assigned i.e. receiving, stocking, order filling, shipping of supplies.
- Assumes responsibility for the expediting process of all discrepant orders according to established procedure.
- Maintains a clean, orderly and safe work area.
- Communicates all problems, information or concerns to the Supervisor of appropriate department and Distribution Center Management.
- Prepares receiving reports as directed.
- Maintains and operates material handling equipment.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Standing for up to 6 hours, up to 3 hours at a time. Walking for up to 6 hours per day, 1 hour at a time. Sitting for up to 4 hours per day, 2 hours at a time. Frequently uses fingers for data entry, etc. Frequently uses hands for unloading truck, etc. Frequently uses upper extremities to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently stoops, bends or reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision and visual monotony. Frequently pushing and pulling carts weighing up to 500 pounds. Working in hot and cold conditions.
EDUCATION:
High School Graduate or equivalent required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be accurate in dealing with figures and details. Prior computer experience preferred. Ability to operate and maintain material handling equipment. 3-5 years of previous receiving experience preferred.
