Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ plus years of inventory control management experience in a distribution warehouse environment.
- Bachelors degree with a concentration in Operations, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
Job Summary
Responsible for the development of high performing inventory control processes within an assigned area. Services both internal and external customers by ensuring inventory accuracy and providing insights to opportunities that mitigate loss and/or risk of loss. Manages and monitors inventory gains and losses following receipt from vendor to customer delivery.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Develops and establishes best practice policies and techniques for all aspects of inventory control in order to ensure good inventory control practices at assigned locations. Provides leadership feedback for continuous improvement of the inventory control discipline and application.
- Provides regional guidance, training and direction for inventory control, inventory process management, inventory audits, cycle counts, and reporting metrics.
- Manages inventory losses and gains and provides insights to process gaps that drive results. Provides guidance on inventory variances, including cause and resolution.
- Prepares and takes physical inventories and manages all facets of reconciliation for assigned region.
- Supports the operations department with distribution center moves, setups, and remodels from an inventory perspective.
- Manages the activities and performance of the inventory control and cycle count team members.
- Serves as a liaison with asset protection and operations leaders to ensure issues are appropriately reported and resolved.

- Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience. May recommend/make decisions regarding new programs/initiatives that have significant impact to the business and carry consequences in unsuccessful endeavors.
- Manages a larger team or multiple small teams through direction of subordinate management and/or supervisory staff.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
