About Fort Logan: The Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan (CMHIFL) is one of two state hospitals serving our community. The vision of CMHIFL is to provide the highest quality mental health services to persons with complex, serious, and persistent mental illness within the resources available. CMHIFL provides inpatient treatment to adult patients, generally between the ages of 18-59. The hospital currently has 138 adult inpatient beds and over six treatment milieus serving civil and forensic individuals. This position supervises and oversees the daily ordering, receipt, storage, and physical inventory of storeroom operations in Nutrition Services in accordance with state (CDPHE) and federal regulations (USDA), as well as policies and procedures.
Daily ordering includes food and beverage items, paper products, and supplies (chemicals, medical supplies for first aid kits, etc.) for the Nutrition Services kitchen from approved vendors.
This position also completes emergency orders as needed. This position establishes PAR levels for products and oversees the distribution of products to the kitchen production areas as well as to all the units (daily beverage orders and weekly snack orders).
This position also oversees the storage and distribution of Kudos food products. This position also maintains equipment by establishing, adhering to, and scheduling routine maintenance services of all beverage machines, and ice machines, and any emergency service requests necessary.
This position maintains well-organized inventory storage by utilizing proper storage areas, monitoring refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage temperatures, following product rotation procedures, and inspecting for deterioration, contamination, infestation, etc.
This position oversees the inspection of deliveries for quality, quantity, grade, freshness, packaging, and specifications and oversees dispute resolution with vendors.
The position oversees meal delivery operations to off-site units, ensuring timely and efficient transportation services. A valid driver's license is required, as the role may also provide back-up driving support when needed.
This position is a unit supervisor of the storeroom, providing appropriate supervision, mentoring, and professional growth and development to assigned staff.
This position facilitates and encourages storeroom and dining service staff to make individual commitments toward accomplishing the departments mission through implementing department policies and procedures, complying with applicable laws, regulations and standards, directing training programs and employee appreciation/recognition programs, adapting the department to change if necessary, developing work schedules to ensure a high degree of efficiency, assigning duties, monitoring progress and workflow, checking product, scheduling work and establishing standards.
This position enforces CDHS, CMHHIFL, departmental policies and procedures, and union agreement. This position provides coverage for production areas as needed due to call-offs, staff shortages, etc.
This position has signature authority for actions and decisions that directly impact pay, status, and tenure.
They manage personnel by evaluating employee performance, conducting plans, appraisals, and evaluations, organizing and resolving conflict, issuing disciplinary actions, maintaining appropriate documentation, starting the hiring process, interviewing applicants, and recommending for hire, promotion, or transfer, and providing orientation and training for employees utilizing established training and assessment tools.
They ensure staff competence by providing and facilitating training appropriate to needs.
They manage assigned teams in the development, design, review, and implementation of project quality/improvement plans or strategies to support the departmental goals and objectives.
They manage by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, correct, and motivate and drive a high-level of employee engagement.
This position complies with state and federal regulations including purchasing, handling, storage of products, and food safety and sanitation.
This includes purchasing from approved state vendors, following fiscal rules for food and equipment purchases. This position serves as an approving official for procurement cardholders and is responsible for reviewing cardholder transactions to ensure accuracy and verifies compliance with established policies and guidelines.
This also includes rotating stock using the First In, First Out method (FIFO), inspecting product upon delivery as well as in storage areas for deterioration, contamination, infestation, etc. and monitoring refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage temperatures.
This position ensures proper usage and storage of hazardous chemicals by following Safety Data Sheets (SDS) guidelines and procedures, and complies with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) and Joint Commission regarding sanitation, food safety, proper storage, etc.
This position also ensures compliance with ServSafe standards, Environment of Care protocols, and all departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
This position maintains up-to-date knowledge on storeroom safety and security practices. This position oversees the completion of weekly team kitchen audits and maintenance of emergency food supplies.
This position monitors cost of goods for price increases, verifies invoices for accuracy, and authorizes food and paper goods expenditures, and prepares budget documents (reports, invoices, and receiving reports) and submits these to administration for approval.
This position maintains software/technology functionality, especially in the areas of service, purchasing, inventory, and issuing, and must have a working knowledge of the software system, including creating/tracking requisitions, purchasing and order scheduling, inventory tracking, daily pulls, advance withdrawal lists, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:ServSafe Certified as a Manager
Experience supervising staff, including scheduling work assignments, training employees, completing performance evaluations, and participating in corrective or disciplinary actions
Supervisor experience in warehouse, materials management, storeroom or food service operations
Experience in a hospital, healthcare, behavioral health, correctional, or institutional environment
Experience using computerized inventory or purchasing systems
Experience with food inventory control, ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution
