Role Overview
This role owns the tools, reporting and process infrastructure used by the West Elm Inventory Management teams across forecasting, Open to Buy, Investment Review, newness planning, reorders, AI adoption and planner support. The role keeps the current business running, improves user trust in the system outputs and helps translate system strategy into usable process for planners and managers.
The right candidate is both analytical and operational. They can validate data, diagnose process breaks, maintain System and Excel-based tools, train users and partner with Inventory Strategy, Planning, Merchandising, Distribution, Tech and cross-brand teams during the transition to future planning systems or processes.
Essential Functions
Own and maintain the reporting tools, dashboards and planning templates used by the Inventory Management team across forecasting, open-to-buy, seasonal planning, product launches, reorders, promotions and excess inventory
Ensure recurring business processes run accurately by refreshing data, validating formulas, checking outputs and preparing reports for planner, manager and leadership use
Support monthly planning and forecast review processes by building clear views of demand, sales, receipts, inventory, margin, channel mix, risk and opportunity
Validate data across planning systems, reporting platforms and source files to ensure business teams are working from accurate and consistent information
Troubleshoot system, reporting and process issues, then partner with technology teams and business users on fixes, testing, enhancements and post-release validation
Improve replenishment and reorder processes by supporting order recommendations, inventory flow logic, vendor constraints, location splits, order uploads and exception reporting
Support seasonal and investment planning by maintaining planning templates, validating product counts, reviewing demand adjustments and ensuring clean handoffs between process steps
Build standardized reporting views that reduce manual work and help users quickly identify business risks, opportunities and data quality issues
Maintain documentation, process calendars, file version control, training materials and user-facing resources for recurring planning workflows
Train planners and managers through practical documentation, short training sessions, troubleshooting guides and one-on-one support
Gather user feedback, manage a prioritized tools backlog and recommend process improvements that reduce manual work, improve speed and increase trust in system outputs
Drive AI adoption by helping manage internal AI tools, prompt libraries, process documentation, user access, training and practical workflow use cases
Translate complex system logic into clear business guidance for non-technical users and connect day-to-day process improvements to broader inventory strategy and future-system readiness

The expected starting pay range for this position is $86,400 - $101,500. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
