Distribution Associe

***As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen.

This role supports the distribution department by preparing, stocking, and assembling items for shipments, while also verifying and maintaining shipment records. It involves inspecting, documenting, and resolving issues with incoming and outgoing shipments, routing items, and participing in training for skill improvement.

Compension & Benefits:

Estimed Starting Salary Range for Distribution Associe : $16/hour - Pay commensure with experience.

Distribution Associe Responsibilities Include:

  • Receives incoming parts and checks for accuracy, enters part informion in computer and records parts in receiving log.
  • Routes parts to proper departments for processing
  • Enters parts into proper locion and stock parts in proper locions.
  • Loces and produces proper shipping documents to meet daily shipping schedule and records on daily shipping log.
  • Pulls items to fill orders.
  • Packages parts for shipment in manner required by customer; prepares packing slip for purchasing and inventory control.
  • Arranges package pick-ups and may help with general cleaning of work area when necessary.
  • Compares identifying informion and counts, weighs, and measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify informion against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  • Determines method of shipment when no method has been given by supervisor; posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage; and maintains inventory of shipping merials and supplies.
  • Crees labels and affixes labels on packaged cartons or stencils identifying shipping informion on cartons.
  • Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers; inserts item into containers; nails covers on wooden cres; binds containers with metal tape; loads and unloads trucks.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming and outgoing shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages; routes shipments to corresponding department.
  • Operes tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments for shipping and receiving plform to storage or work area; opere various shipping programs on computer (UPS, FEDX, etc.) for shipping documention; posts receiving da into dabase system.
  • Performs other job-reled duties as assigned.

Distribution Associe Experience, Educion, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • This role requires daily computer use to receive, loce, and ship parts, including accure da entry and real-time updes to shipment records. The associe will regularly use inventory management software (e.g., WMS/ERP), barcode scanning tools, and carrier plforms (UPS/FedEx) to track inventory, genere labels, and maintain precise inventory counts and locions.
  • High school diploma or general educion degree (GED) or six months of reled experience or equivalent combinion of educion and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings and technical descriptions.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and must be able to use an inventory system.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; pience; problem solving skills; tention to detail; organizion skills; accuracy; time management; basic mh skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualificions of Cherokee Federal
