Logistics Analyst Job Description The Logistics Analyst coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within and between departments in alignment with the production schedule. This role reviews and distributes production, work, and shipment schedules, monitors work processes, and compiles detailed reports on inventory levels, costs, and related operational data. The analyst supports efficient production by ensuring materials, staffing, and documentation are accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable standards and regulations. Responsibilities Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within and between departments according to the production schedule. Review and distribute production schedules, work orders, and shipment schedules to ensure timely and accurate execution. Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. Review staffing tables and related documentation to determine personnel requirements and material priorities. Record and maintain detailed production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures. Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands. Compile and prepare reports on inventory levels, costs, and other logistics-related metrics. Accurately document and record customer and client information in the appropriate systems. Apply knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production when performing daily tasks. Use Microsoft Excel and other computer applications to analyze data, format reports, and support technical aspects of logistics planning. Essential Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all documentation and data entry. Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal departments and external partners. Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor, and materials. Ability to accurately document and record customer and client information. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production. Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Minimum of 2 years of experience using Microsoft Excel with formulas and formatting in a technical or analytical role. High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2-4 years of related experience in logistics, production planning, or a similar field. Experience working with production schedules, work orders, and inventory management. International transportation experience, which is a bonus and supports understanding of logistics outputs. Ability to work with quality control data and production metrics. Comfort working with data-driven reports and operational performance metrics. Work Environment The role operates in a production and logistics-focused environment that relies heavily on accurate scheduling, documentation, and data analysis. You will use computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word on a regular basis to manage production data, inventory levels, and cost information. The position involves frequent interaction with multiple departments to align materials, staffing, and schedules with production demands. Work is structured around production timelines and shipping requirements, requiring consistent attention to detail and adherence to standards and regulations in a fast-paced, process-driven setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Morton, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
