The Shipping Assistant is responsible for coordinating all communication between the Warehouse and other internal departments as well as external parties, including but not limited to: Sales, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Customers, Forwarding Agents, Dispatchers, Vendors, and the like. Prepares for the shipment of quality strand/cable/wire rope and all necessary/required documentation for customers/agents by utilizing standard machinery, materials, tools, and equipment while following ISO/AS work instructions, assuring adherence to quality and continuous improvement standards is necessary to fulfilling the needs of customers and outside service vendors. Generates shipping schedules and prepares picklists/Shipping Advices to be fulfilled by the necessary material handling personnel. Performs other duties as required but which comply with ADA.To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily or higher and, in a safety-conscious manner. Documentation must be accurate, legible, readily identifiable, retrievable and completed in a timely fashion. Maintain documentation to ensure retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information. Records (paper or electronic) such as: test records, Lotus, Visual (tags, issuing), WO, PO, PMs, logs, pick list, shipping advices and the like are required to prove conformity.

Ensure data entry is done timely.

Able to identify and respond to material/products that are non-conforming. Knows criteria for acceptance/rejection. Familiar with Hold Tags, NMR, RMA's, First Article Inspection, Disposition of Scrap or Expired Material, and the like, as applicable.

Transactions are reliably processed and reported, delivered on time and in a cost-effective manner, inventory and systems are adequately secured, materials meet required quality standards, and all delivery/receipt processes comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Support the production team by performing other related work as instructed by supervisors

Performs manual duties which generate the shipment of all products, materials, and supplies in accordance with standard practices and procedures. Adjusts schedules to maintain continuous movement of materials at a correct and safe rate of flow, masks designated areas and prepares products for shipment/delivery. Coordinates movement and destination of materials, goods, and/or supplies from work orders, manifests, maintenance records, shipping/handling instructions, picking lists, and routing instructions including on-site approval verification to specifications.Domestic and international shipping, accurate transaction of all finished goods, troubleshooting discrepancies.Verifies correctness of outgoing shipments and maintains records of shortages and/or damaged goods. May use CRT to enter inventory transactions. Inputs timely and accurate data into the company's computer system.Communicates on a regular basis with supervisor/s, technician/s and co-workers regarding the shipment, supply of products, procedures and issues regarding scheduling.Determine any suggestions for process improvements. Timely and accurately provides technical/scheduling/process knowledge to obtain optimum production utilization and minimize scrap loss ensuring proper machine/equipment/people usage. Make necessary adjustments to correct quality defects after consulting with Supervision.Regular and predictable "physical presence" on-site attendance is an essential job function and prerequisite to perform other functions of the job.
