Metal Facility-Material Handler

Job Position: Metal Facility-Material Handler Location: OLNEY, TX 76374 Pay Rate: $16.00/hr Description: Material Handling: Load and unload "age ovens"and move metal racks between extrusion and packing areas. Quality Support: Weigh metal in racks, record the weights, and transfer the information to the department clerk. Packing & Shipping: Band metal bundles, place press buggies in packing areas, and transfer finished products to the shipping department. Facility Upkeep: Maintain a clean workspace by emptying trash hoppers and supplying sawing stations with wood or necessary materials. Machinery Operation: Monitor extrusion machinery to ensure products meet specifications, and report any defects or machine issues to supervisors. Job Requirements Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs regularly. Work Schedule: Positions often require 12-hour shifts (day or night) and a minimum of 50+ hours per week. Certifications: While many general labor roles are entry-level, a Forklift Certification is highly preferred or required for specific material handling roles. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is generally expected.
