Warehouse Order Picker and Stand-Up Forklift Operator (Second Shift, Contract) Job Description This contract role, running through the end of October, focuses on supporting a busy warehouse by accurately picking customer orders, operating a stand-up forklift, and helping maintain inventory accuracy during an upgrade to SAP inventory software. Operate a stand-up forklift safely to move, stage, and organize materials throughout the warehouse. Palletize products, shrink wrap pallets, and prepare orders for customer pickup and outbound shipments. Write and complete order tickets for customers, ensuring all information is accurate and legible. Enter and update inventory information in SAP inventory software to support the site's system upgrade and maintain accurate stock records. Load and unload trucks, including receiving inbound materials and staging outbound shipments. Interact directly with customers and drivers at the warehouse doors, providing courteous service and clear communication. Handle basic customer disputes or order issues professionally and escalate concerns as needed. Follow all warehouse safety practices and equipment procedures while working around forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Collaborate with warehouse team members and leadership to keep orders on track and meet delivery timelines. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience using SAP inventory software or a comparable inventory management system. At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse or shipping and receiving environment. Proven stand-up forklift operating experience, with the ability to safely maneuver in a busy warehouse. Experience pulling orders and working with RF scanners in a warehouse setting. Experience interacting with clients or customers in a professional and service-oriented manner. Ability to palletize, shrink wrap, and prepare materials for shipment or pickup. Comfort working on a consistent second-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Strong attention to detail when entering data into inventory systems and completing customer tickets. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with SAP software is highly beneficial, especially in an inventory or warehouse context. Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including loading and unloading trucks. Comfort working with warehouse technologies such as RF scanners and other material-handling tools. Interest in developing leadership skills and growing into lead or supervisory roles over time. Willingness to travel occasionally to other store or warehouse locations as needed.
