Head Start/Pre-K Transportation Coordinator

Employment Term: August 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027

Salary: Stipend of $5000 paid in equal installments for work performed.

Qu alifications :

1. High school diploma
2. Hold current WV Bus Driver Certification
3. At least 2 years Head Start experience
4. Supervisory experience required
5. Ability to work well with others
6. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Oversees the operational, administrative and compliance aspects of three counties .
2. Operational Management : Supports driver s' development of routes; ensures route efficiency and effectiveness; oversees schedules and field trips.
3. Supervision & Training : Supervise and eva luate county lead drivers performance; recruit when vacancies occur; ensure appropriate evaluations are completed on drivers and bus aides ; collaborate/conduct training and manage attendance . Track training for each driver to ensure training hrs. are met for renewal of certification. Maintain confidentiality.
4. Compliance & Safety : Assure daily transportation safety compliance with Federal Performance Standards, State transportation , chi ld care regulations and Policy 2525 ; review and submit in required time frame any accident paperwork.
5. Logistics & Scheduling : Manage and/or fill in for absences.
6. Communication & Support : Serve as contact between management, drivers and parents in own county and support leads in other two counties.
7. Technology & Reporting : Manage data, timely receipt of monthly paperwork to main office , support video monitoring checks of driver s compliance and safety
8. Other duties as assigned

Additional General Requirements :

1. Adhere to Head Start Performance Standards, childcare licensin g, EPIC and EPIC Head Start/Pre - K/Early Head Start Policies and Procedures and NAEYC Code of Ethics.
2. Participate in meetings, trainings and continuing education programs as required or suggested by Head Start and sponsoring organizations.
3. Prepare and submit written reports as required .
4. Attend evening meetings and perform overnight travel as required .
5. Comply with all WVDE requirements and WVDHHR regulations.
6. Agency approval of Criminal Investigation Bureau records.

This position may require strenuous activity including but not limited to standing, bending, kneeling, lifting , holding, etc.

1. to assure the well-being and safety of children ranging from approximately 25 to 80+ pounds
2. to carry supplies into homes, office , etc.
3. to climb stairs
4. to fulfill other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor

Work Environment : The selected candidate must transport him/herself by personal vehicle from one work site to another on a regular basis. Designated work sites may include locations not owned or operated by EPIC including outdoor venues, public facilities, school buildings and/or private residences .
