Salary Range: $56,700 to $94,600

Job Summary:

The Shipping Supervisor manages the end-to-end logistics of finished wood door products in a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading a multi-shift team to ensure all outbound orders are accurate, properly packaged to prevent damage, and dispatched on schedule to meet customer delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shift & Personnel Management: Coordinate daily activities and work assignments for a 24/7 workforce, ensuring adequate shift coverage, managing timecards, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Logistics Coordination: Supervise the daily truck scheduling and collaborate with freight carriers to maximize load capacity while maintaining strict delivery sequences.
  • Operational Oversight: Direct the flow of products from the production floor to the dock, overseeing the pulling, staging, and packing of door skin and building products orders.
  • Documentation & Accuracy: Verify all critical shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (BOL), advanced shipping notices, and packing slips, ensuring 100% accuracy in order fulfillment.
  • Inventory Integrity: Maintain accurate finished goods inventory through regular cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and system transactions within the ERP.
  • Quality Control: Inspect all finished goods prior to shipment for defects or damage, ensuring specialized packaging (such as palletizing or crating) is sufficient for safe transport.

Safety & Compliance Requirements:

  • OSHA Standards: Enforce compliance with all safety regulations, including forklift operation certification, lockout/tagout procedures, and hazard communication.
  • Wood Industry Safety: Monitor the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of warehouse machinery (forklifts, dock plates) and the company fleet to prevent mechanical failures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years in shipping/receiving, with at least 1+ years in a supervisory role, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • High school diploma required, associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, IFS)
  • Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs independently and work in non-climate-controlled plant environments.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license required.

Work Schedule:

  • This position supports a 24-hour, 7-day manufacturing operation, with responsibilities primarily on the day shift.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to wood dust, industrial noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Availability for weekend work and emergency call-ins as required.
