General Operator (forklift)– Seasonal
Location: Worthington, IN
Pay: $19.50 / hr – $21.50 / hr
Hours: 6 am – 2:30 pm and 2 pm – 10:30 pm (must be able to work both shifts)
Job Purpose:
Join the production team and help deliver quality seed products to farmers worldwide. As a General Operator, you’ll support seasonal operations using standard procedures to maintain safety and quality in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize standard operating procedures in all aspects of seed production, packaging, inventory, and maintenance.
	 - Operate equipment and perform physical labor, including lifting up to 60 lbs and standing for extended periods.
	 - Receive, weigh, and unload crop shipments; collect quality samples and record data.
	 - Assist in harvesting, drying, shelling, conditioning, and applying treatments to seeds.
	 - Bag, label, palletize, and stage seed for inventory and shipment.
	 - Operate forklifts in warehouse activities, including picking, pooling, staging, receiving, loading, and unloading.
	 - Maintain a clean and safe workplace, performing 5S and plant upkeep tasks year-round.
	 - Support the team with box washing, inspection, repairs, and metric tracking.
	 - Adapt to changing tasks and seasonal needs, including long hours and rotational shifts.
	 - Meet all safety requirements including wearing PPE and steel-toe boots.
	 - Maintain accurate production and inventory records in computer systems.
	 - Demonstrate reliable attendance, teamwork, and positive attitude.
	
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
	 - Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
	 - Able to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs; operate stairs.
	 - Reliable transportation to worksite.
	 - Forklift experience preferred; training provided.
	 - No physical restrictions; must pass drug and background screenings.
	 - Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
	 - Strong attention to safety, quality, and operational standards.
	
Work Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts, 5 days/week (1st Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM).
	 - Flexibility required for seasonal changes and overtime.
	 - Onboarding begins June 1 with additional start dates throughout summer.
	
Attire:
- Steel-toe boots required
	 - PPE including hi-visibility hard hat, vest, gloves, and eyewear provided
	
Additional Information:
- Smoke-free facility; adherence to corporate policy regarding electronic devices and food in work areas required.
