IN NEED OF A FEW ORDER SELECTORS IN PLANT CITY FOR A COLD WAREHOUSE. Job Summary The Produce Shipping & Receiving Assistant Manager is responsible for leading all warehouse floor operations, focusing on the handling of fresh produce and perishable products. This hands-on role requires balancing high-speed shipping demands with precise quality control, food safety compliance, and team leadership to ensure customer orders are delivered correctly and on time. Duties and Responsibilities Operations Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff, managing daily scheduling and workflow to meet productivity goals. Receiving & Inspection: Inspect incoming produce for quality, quantity, and temperature compliance; verify packing slips against purchase orders; and report damaged goods. Equipment Usage: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Shipping & Fulfillment: Oversee the accurate staging, picking, packing, and loading of outgoing orders, ensuring proper temperature-controlled packing when required. Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and enforce strict FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures to minimize waste. Traceability: Enter order information for temperature recorders and ensure they are in correct loaded trailer. Food Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict sanitation and safety protocols according to FDA, USDA, and HACCP standards, using PrimusGFS standards. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with drivers, carriers and vendors to manage delivery schedules and resolve logistics issues. Documentation: Maintain meticulous records for all shipping/receiving documentation using FAMOUS. Other Duties: Manage any issues and handle accordingly such as labor, utility, equipment, product quality and discrepancies, etc. Qualifications Experience: 2+ years of warehouse/logistics experience, specifically in food distribution or produce. Leadership: Previous supervisory experience, with strong team management skills. Technical Skills: Proficiency in FAMOUS, Bartender, and Microsoft Office a plus. Certifications: Forklift certification is strongly preferred. Knowledge: Understanding of USDA/FDA food safety regulations.
