Role Purpose StementThe Merials Operions Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective receiving, storage, inventory management, and distribution of food, frozen goods, packaging, and operional supplies within SkyChefs supply chain model.
This role ensures product integrity, cost control, and compliance with company and regulory standards while leading a team in a fast-paced, 24/7 airline cering environment.
As a vital member of our operions team, the Merials Operions Supervisor plays a hands-on role on the floor, managing inventory and frozen food logistics, coordining inbound and outbound shipments, and supporting production needs. The position requires strong leadership, tention to detail, and the ability to collabore across departments to maintain service excellence and operional efficiency.
Main AccountabilitiesSupervisor Responsibility
- Ensure th the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed and th all delivery times are being met timely
- Conduct daily work group meetings
- Schedule and control staff to meet labor productivity and overtime targets
- Ensure compliance with all government regulory agencies standards (example: Food and Drug Administrion (FDA), United Sted Department of Agriculture (USDA), Occupional Safety and Health Administrion (OSHA), Environmental Protection Administrion (EPA), Department of Transportion (DOT), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), etc.)
- Document and follow up on all department processes in order to implement improvements
- Ensure on-time and accure production and/or cering of all flights
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulions
- Other duties as deemed necessary
Leadership
- Guide, motive and develop staff within the Human Resources policies
- Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)
- Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility; initie and steer corrective actions in case of deviions
- Participe and support company sponsored initiives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and Production systems
Background in warehouse operions, ideally within food production, logistics, or supply chain environments.
Strong understanding of cycle counts, stock rotion and FIFO/FEFO
Must have experience directing warehouse staff, assigning tasks, coaching and holding teams accountable.
Ability to manage performance in a high volume, time sensitive environment
35 years of experience in inventory, or warehouse management.
Experience with Variable Production Systems and logistics scheduling.
Excellent interpersonal skills to collabore across departments and with external stakeholders.
Excellent communicion skills both written and verbal and good knowledge of the MS Office Suite and Windows based computer applicions
