Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South is the preeminent youth development organization in Southeastern Massachusetts, serving more than 2,500 youth annually from infancy to adulthood from nearly 50 zip codes at our Clubhouses in Brockton and Taunton, 100-acre Camp Riverside property, and at several community extension sites across the region. BGCMS is fueled by a critical mission "to nurture strong minds, healthy bodies and community spirit through youth-driven, high-impact programming in safe and fun environments" to ensure that every child in need of support, opportunity, and belonging has a positive place to spend their out-of-school hours.

Together with AmeriCorps, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South is adding a Food Distribution Coordinator VISTA to our team!

The Food Distribution Coordinator will help to increase access to healthy food in the greater Metro South region. The Food Distribution Coordinator will work in partnership with the Food Access & Outreach Director and Food Intake Coordinator to maintain, refine, and execute a comprehensive plan to expand the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Souths Farm Team food rescue initiative. This role focuses on strengthening partnerships, expanding food distribution, developing tools and reports, and building awareness of nutritional assistance and community resources offered by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South.

Support Mobile and Monthly Markets:
Work closely with the Food Intake Coordinator VISTA to determine distribution of donations to partners.
Maintain and cultivate relationships with hosts of mobile market sites; identify new or replacement sites.
Maintain Farm Van inventory and readiness for mobile and Clubhouse markets.
Expand mobile and monthly markets to additional days or locations when feasible.
Support food distribution at mobile and monthly markets alongside the Food Access & Outreach Director.
Support patron data collection, including scanning BAHN cards and onboarding new patrons.
Maintain and Develop Tools, Trackers, and Reports:
Refine and maintain trackers for inventory management, distribution metrics, and individuals served.
Develop and maintain SOP documentation to reinforce consistent practices.
Collaborate with grants and marketing staff to utilize Freight Farms metrics and impact stories in communications.
Build Awareness of Nutritional Assistance and Resources:
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Communications to assess current outreach efforts and opportunities.
Develop a comprehensive food rescue marketing and outreach plan, including digital, print, signage, and events.
Support execution of the marketing and outreach plan with appropriate staff.
Maintain presence at annual and recurring community events to distribute food and share BGCMS resources.
Support Volunteers and Community Engagement:
Maintain working knowledge of Freight Farms operations and information systems.
Support volunteers onsite and collaborate with the Volunteerism VISTA to develop market-focused volunteer roles.
Engage volunteers and community members to build awareness and support for mobile markets

What you will receive as the Food Distribution Coordinator:
A bi-weekly stipend of $1,072.54
A $6,000 stipend towards housing / relocation - paid in two increments

This is a unique opportunity to help serve our local community in supporting food rescue! You will help to continue building a food rescue network that brings thousands of meals to tables where they are needed most.
