Senior Planner, Materials Management - Onsite, Cambridge, MA
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Planner, Materials Management to support material availability across internal and external manufacturing operations within a regulated life sciences environment. This role partners closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Development, Regulatory, Clinical, and Commercial teams to translate demand into material strategies, strengthen inventory performance, and support reliable product supply.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Material Strategy
* Partner with Supply Planning, Development, and Manufacturing teams to support material planning activities based on demand forecasts and production schedules.
* Manage material planning and procurement activities aligned to manufacturing and MRP requirements.
* Support cross functional planning processes and collaboration across the organization.
Inventory & System Management
* Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for commercial and development products.
* Optimize safety stock, reorder points, and replenishment strategies to support continuity of supply.
* Monitor ERP transactions and material flow to maintain inventory accuracy.
* Manage raw material inventory levels while balancing service, risk, and excess inventory exposure.
Procurement & Supplier Coordination
* Create purchase requisitions and purchase orders for direct materials and help expedite critical orders when necessary.
* Partner with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve supply and invoicing issues.
Analysis & Continuous Improvement
* Support reporting, scenario planning, and continuous improvement initiatives related to supply chain operations.
Qualifications
* 4-7 years of experience in supply chain planning, materials management, procurement, or related functions within a regulated manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of materials planning, inventory control, procurement coordination, and process improvement methodologies.
* Experience with ERP systems such as SAP along with strong Excel and data analysis skills.
* Knowledge of GMP environments, manufacturing operations, and new product introduction processes preferred.
* Strong analytical, communication, and cross functional collaboration skills.
* Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
* Detail oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast paced environment.
Estimated Min Rate: $45.50
Estimated Max Rate: $65.00
